저자 유혜준
자그마한 체구의 유혜준 기자를 보면, “아니 그 몸으로 어떻게 그 먼 길을 걸어다녔을까?”라는 생각이 절로 든다. 하지만 그녀는 발걸음도 가볍게(정말 몸이 가벼워 보인다) 처음에는 동네 주변을 돌아다니다가 영역을 넓혀 수도권 인근을 걷다가 걷기에 재미를 들여 전국 팔도와 섬들을 차례로 섭렵하였다. 이왕에 걷기로 한 거, 그녀는 내친김에 히말라야 트레킹에 나섰으며 만리장성에도 도전하였다. 지금도 그녀는 분명 어딘가를 걷고 있을 것이다(아니, 걷고 있다).
그녀가 어디를 걸었는지 궁금하면 그녀의 블로그에 들어가보면 된다. 걷는 것만큼이나 부지런히 글과 사진을 올리고 있으니 말이다. 대부분 혼자 걷기를 즐기는 그녀는 여행을 떠날 때 절대 책을 가져가지 않는다는 원칙이 있다나.
여행중에 그녀가 가장 많이 듣는 말.
“여자 혼자 댕기면 무섭지 않소?”
“남편이 보내 줍디까?”
대답은 언제나 “아니요”와 “그럼요”이다.
현재 오마이뉴스 기자로 재직중. 여행은 일하는 짬짬이 다닌다.
